In 2026, I am launching The Write Conscious Literary Magazine, where the Literary Renaissance takes its first physical form.
The first edition of the magazine will be titled Literary Renaissance and will focus on emerging from a literary dark age with transformative literature. Pieces will be paired with Renaissance artworks in a maximalist style.

POETRY SUBMISSIONS — LITERARY RENAISSANCE (ISSUE ONE)
For this issue, we are looking for poems with an aesthetic ambition—poems that match the grandeur of a Renaissance—metaphysical works that reach the transcendent, serious works dealing with morality, and poems that make contact with nature. Poems that leap with strong metaphors and images will be favoured over confessional poems and workshop realism.
Submission Requirements
One poem per submission, only one submission per author for each edition.
The maximum length accepted will be 40 lines.
How to Submit
In the spirit of the literary renaissance and a new approach to publishing, we will only be accepting submissions that have already been posted on Substack.
A true renaissance will be built on the backs of writers who are willing to post in public. This magazine’s vision is to amplify and give a printed home and readership to work that already stands on its own in the digital space.
To submit your poem, first post it on Substack as a free post, and then post the link below in the comments. Do not post your poem directly into the comments as text, or it will be disqualified and not read.
You can submit any poem you’ve published in the past on Substack if you feel like that aligns with the vision best. You don’t need to write something new just to submit.
Response Time
Submissions for poetry close on February 15th at 11:59 PM PST.
Those who are selected will be notified by the end of February by both Substack DM and email.
If you do not receive an email or DM by the end of February, you were not selected.
I will not be sending rejection comments/DMs/emails to anyone, or providing advice or feedback for why you were not selected.
We reserve the right to accept fewer pieces than expected or none at all if the work does not fit the issue.
Rights
You will retain full ownership and copyright if you’re selected. The Write Conscious Literary Magazine will acquire first print publication rights for this edition of the magazine, as well as non-exclusive rights to use your piece for the promotion of the magazine.
You can keep your work published on Substack or republish and reuse it anywhere else at any time. Your Substack will also be linked in the magazine for people to find you.
