We read The Orchard Keeper June 3 - June 30th

In 2023, I read The Orchard Keeper approximately fifteen times to build the Orchard Keeper Course. McCarthy’s first novel is his least-read, most unfinished when he started, and, in my opinion, his most difficult novel. There are time and perspective jumps without warning, it can be confusing to know who is narrating, and his writing lacks clarity time after time. However, after studying the novel extensively, I believe The Orchard Keeper reveals more about McCarthy’s character/life than anything else he released.

I aim to help you finish and understand The Orchard Keeper with as little friction as possible. After we read this book together, we will have the foundation to access McCarthy’s three other Southern Gothic masterpieces (which will be read in subsequent months).

The Zoom calls will be casual conversations where we will talk about the book as friends, and I will answer any questions you guys have about the novel. You can also post comments down below for me to answer about the novel!
