I was supposed to start Crime and Punishment in February but have been in a slump. Maybe this is a sign to pick it up.

So, I had always wanted to read Dostoevsky and held out thing I would first learn Russian. Crazy as that sounds - at a point in my life I had three Russian music teachers and had to get used to being yelled at in multiple languages 😳

Anyway, because of the book club I finally dug in. I’m sorry that my WiFi connection didn’t allow me to participate in the Crime an Punishment call as by page 100 it became my favorite work of literature. The Gambler is next and I can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts. I’m hooked. Thanks Ian, for making this possible!

Very excited for this one Ian! The first novel I rented from the library after not having read an entire novel in 5 or so years…was Crime and Punishment. Needless to say, I didn't finish it haha. Now I know it was better that I didn't! Now I can read it with all the Renaissance guys and gals.

Very excited about this. Does seem like an extra week for crime and punishment and a week less for the gambler would be better.

Hi Ian,

I'm a new member and am very sorry for the dumb question, but is the intention that the dates are the start of the reading or the 'deadline' for reading to participate in discussions?

Looking forward to reading along with you and the crew!

Kind regards,

Richard

The dates are when I will be hosting a book club call on Saturday morning (exact time to be determined) to discuss the book with you guys. So you should be done with the book by then. Those calls will be recorded and uploaded. Expect the course video for each book 3-5 days before the call happens.
