On June 28th, we are continuing our Vladimir Nabokov book club, where we are reading all his novels,
This month, we are exploring his tragic novel Pnin, which many argue is better than Lolita and Pale Fire.
Pnin is a comedy on its surface level, but it will create a moral and transformative awakening in anyone who takes it seriously by the time it's over.
Many of us obsess over cold, intellectual, ironic books that can pierce through anything. Nabokov robs us of his Nietzschean Superman projections of Kinbote in Pale Fire and Humbert Humbert in Lolita, and instead probes straight through to the heart of reality without the theatrics.
So, I want to see everyone in this book club. Read, roll up, and let’s get going. We are the most active book club in the world, and I am excited to read this one with you :)
If you can’t make it to the call, keep in mind you can still
Watch the recorded calls, which will be posted below
Lurk and listen to the call while it’s live if you’re busy with your family, commuting, working, or doing whatever. I am 100% fine with you popping in, saying your thoughts, and leaving if you’re super busy!
You can maybe make it to one of our other 10+ book clubs every month
FYI, beginners and expert readers are all welcome :)
We will meet on the date below at 10 AM PST on Zoom and talk for an hour about the novel.
