Welcome back to round two of the Cormac McCarthy book club, where we are going to be reading through all of his works! This month, we are discussing McCarthy’s southern gothic incestual masterpiece, Outer Dark.
This is one of McCarthy’s best works, featuring supernatural elements, biblical symbolism, exceptional writing, and a mysterious aura that surrounds the entire narrative.
McCarthy wrote this at his rock bottom, and it’s all a manifestation of his trauma stemming from his divorce, which is why it’s so good 😂
So, roll up on the 19th and join in on the fun!
I would still encourage you to join if you can’t make the call because you can
Watch the recorded calls, which will be posted below
Lurk and listen to the call while it’s live if you’re busy with your family, commuting, working, or doing whatever. I am 100% fine with you popping in, saying your thoughts, and leaving if you’re super busy!
You can maybe make it to one of our other 10+ book clubs every month
FYI, beginners and expert readers are all welcome :)
