We are back with a free video on my process of translation, but more importantly, giving anyone and everyone a roadmap to translation, even if they have no knowledge of another language.
Many people think that translating poetry is reserved for academics and native speakers of the language. But that mentality is gatekeeping, and isn’t going to help kick off a LITERARY RENAISSANCE.
YOU are going to help kick it off by translating your favorite poets and putting your own personal twist on their images, tone, and content.
So, let me help jumpstart you into one of the most effective practices to become a better reader, writer, thinker, and advocate for literature.
My philosophy of translation is based on Robert Bly’s system, which I’ve linked below (also free to read, just sign up for an account), and I discuss his system throughout the video.

Remember, just get started. We need anyone and everyone to help kick off this movement. Even translating a few poems that wouldn’t otherwise be translated (even outside of academia) could be a huge deal or a stepping stone catalyst to another significant breakthrough.
Thank you to all my soul-jahs out there, my literary crusaders who are grinding with little to no views on Substack. Our momentum and foundational work will not be for nothing.
BYAH!
