Blood Meridian is considered one of the greatest novels ever written. Because of its cult-legend status in the literary world, many first-time McCarthy readers start with it. However, McCarthy’s beautiful and archaic prose, the somewhat slow start (over 65 pages to the first real battle scene), and the third-person omniscient POV can throw first-time readers off. But, even for the most seasoned McCarthy veteran, Blood Meridian has unlimited layers to sift through. I am building a 100+ hour Blood Meridian course here, and one day, I plan to write a book on it!

So, this Book Club will be for both beginners and long-time McCarthy readers. It will be a permanent fixture and run on eight-week cycles (seven weeks on and one week off).

Here's the link to the Blood Meridian Course to further explore the novel's theory, history, and complexity with me!

If you can’t make the book club times, please join me during my daily office hours to discuss anything you want about Blood Meridian.

Book Club Rules: Only attend if you’ve read the selected section! Other than that, anything goes 🤣
