I’ve been meaning to read Rudolfo Anaya’s Bless Me, Ultima for a minute now, and this will serve as a nice bridge to harder Southwest Classics like Ceremony and the Carlos Castaneda series. The novel is in the American Southwest’s canon and, as a coming-of-age story, has a different vibe than most things we read here. But that’s why we are reading it! My goal over the next couple decades in this book club, is to read thousands of books, and so we will have to read everything!
I would still encourage you to join if you can’t make the calls because you can
Watch the recorded calls, which will be posted below
